Sharp jaws of grungy guitars rip at the seams on Worlds Worst’s newest single, “Motor Mouth.” As listeners tumble through its 3 minute runtime, they’re met with the rawest sounds of the year, rebellious lyrics, and enough distortion for a noise complaint. These tough dudes aren’t playing around as they strike lightning down nylon strings. Each riff is completed by blank words driven by a hardcore attitude in a similar vein to Militarie Gun, “Speak when you’re spoken too / I don’t know how.” Don’t get it twisted, this is real Salt Lake City emo.
With praise from Stereogum (including an inclusion in their 2023 top 40 best new bands list), an Eric Andre cosign, and the sickest riffs in the game, it seems like Worlds Worst might just be unstoppable.
